This Privacy Addendum applies specifically to WebView Studio and should be read together with the BetterLogic Privacy Policy, which applies to all BetterLogic products and services.
The provisions below supplement the BetterLogic Privacy Policy and describe the privacy practices specific to WebView Studio.
Privacy-First Design
WebView Studio is designed with a privacy-first, offline-first architecture.
Most of your browsing data remains stored locally on your device and is never transmitted to BetterLogic.
Cloud features are optional and disabled by default.
Information Stored Locally on Your Device
The following information is stored securely in an encrypted local database on your device and is not transmitted to BetterLogic.
This may include:
Browsing history (URLs, page titles, favicons, visit counts)
Saved passwords
Saved form data for AutoFill
Download history
Download metadata
Downloaded files
Saved web apps
App shortcuts
Custom JavaScript
Custom CSS
User-created scripts
User-created styles
Per-site settings
Ad blocker settings
Tracker blocker settings
Cookie blocker settings
Dark mode preferences
User agent settings
Auto Refresh settings
CleanPage removed elements
Other application preferences and configuration
Where supported by your operating system, sensitive credentials such as passwords are additionally protected using platform security features including:
iOS Keychain
Android Keystore
Cloud Synchronization
Cloud synchronization is completely optional.
It is disabled by default.
If you choose to enable Cloud Sync, WebView Studio synchronizes only limited application preferences, including:
Theme
Language
Notification preferences
App lock settings
The following information is never synchronized:
Browsing history
Saved passwords
Saved form data
Downloads
Download history
Per-site settings
Custom scripts
Custom styles
User-created browsing data
You may disable synchronization at any time.
Account & Authentication
Creating an account is optional.
When you sign in using:
Email and password
Google Sign-In
authentication is securely handled through Firebase Authentication.
Your account may store:
Name
Email address
Authentication identifiers
Authentication information is transmitted securely using encrypted HTTPS connections.
You may delete your account at any time.
Deleting your account permanently removes synchronized account information from BetterLogic systems, subject to legal or operational retention requirements.
Firebase Services
WebView Studio uses selected Firebase services to provide core functionality.
Firebase Authentication
Used for secure user sign-in and account management.
Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM)
Used only if you enable notifications.
Notification content is not permanently stored by BetterLogic.
Firebase Crashlytics
Collects crash reports and diagnostic information to help identify software bugs and improve application stability.
Crash reports do not intentionally include your browsing history, passwords, or personal web content.
Firebase Remote Config
Used to retrieve application configuration such as:
Minimum supported app version
Feature availability
Configuration values
No personal browsing information is transmitted through Remote Config.
What WebView Studio Does NOT Collect
Unless explicitly enabled through a future feature with your consent, WebView Studio does not collect:
GPS location
Background location
Advertising ID
Hardware advertising identifiers
Behavioral analytics
Google Analytics
Mixpanel
Segment
Camera data
Microphone recordings
Contacts
SMS messages
Call logs
WebView Studio does not sell your personal information.
WebView Studio does not share your information with advertisers for behavioral advertising.
Built-in Privacy Protection
WebView Studio includes built-in privacy features designed to reduce third-party tracking while browsing.
Depending on your settings, these may include:
Ad blocking
Tracker blocking
Cookie blocking
Privacy filters
CleanPage
Custom blocking rules
Filter lists are bundled with the application or securely downloaded from trusted sources.
Filtering is performed locally on your device.
BetterLogic does not receive reports about the websites you block or the content filtered during browsing.
Permissions
WebView Studio requests only the permissions necessary for features you choose to use.
Depending on your device and enabled features, permissions may include:
Internet
Required to load websites, authenticate your account, synchronize settings (if enabled), and download updates.
Notifications
Required only if you enable push notifications.
Storage / Files
Required to save, open, import, or export downloaded files and user data.
(Android permissions may vary by Android version.)
Biometrics
Face ID, Touch ID, or Fingerprint authentication may be used for:
App Lock
Password Manager
Secure authentication
Biometric information never leaves your device.
Authentication is performed entirely by your operating system.
Vibration
Used only to provide optional haptic feedback.
Data Security
WebView Studio is designed to minimize the amount of information transmitted outside your device.
Security measures include:
HTTPS encrypted communications
Encrypted local database
Secure authentication
Platform credential storage
Firebase security infrastructure
Industry-standard encryption where applicable
Although we implement reasonable safeguards, no software or network can guarantee absolute security.
Your Choices
You may:
Use WebView Studio without creating an account
Keep Cloud Sync disabled
Delete your browsing history
Delete saved passwords
Delete saved forms
Clear application data
Disable notifications
Delete your account
Disable or revoke permissions through your device settings
